Blue Zanfirico Cane Glass Necklace & Earrings Set by Michael J. Hunter

Technical Description 

A studio art glass necklace and earrings set by Michael J. Hunter, part of the ‘faith’ jewellery range. The zanfirico canes are made from clear crystal glass and contain vibrant twisted ribbons of teal blue, lilac/blue and white. Solid 925 Sterling silver findings and chain.

These canes have been specially selected by the Exhibit team for their beautiful colour combinations. Get in touch if you have any special requests. 

Zanfirico is a type of polychrome cane, they are made by assembling a bundle of rods of different colours, and heating it until the material is soft and viscous. The molten bundle is then attached to two punti sticks and elongated up to 30ft, at the same time the bundle is twisted to produce a spiral pattern. Zanfirico takes its name from the Venetian dealer Antonio Sanquirico, who, in the 1830s, encouraged the revival on Murano of this and other traditional techniques.

Excellent, specially selected from the hot glass studio, as new.
