Technical Description
A superb pair of 19th century glass flagon decanters in Amber dating to c1850.
They have their original silver plated stoppers engraved Whiskey with silver plated ornate tops and twisted handles.
A very unusual pair.

England or Germany, c1850. Period of Victoria.
Condition
Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration, clean and clear. The stoppers would have originally had cork at the base.

Historical Relevance
On Feb 11th 1854, for the 1st time coal gas is used to light major streets in San Francisco. On Mrach 7th 1854 Charles Miller patents 1st US sewing machine to stitch buttonholes.
