F & C Osler was founded in Birminham in 1807 specialzing in producing glass ornaments and later chandeliers and table glass. This is one of the very few drinking glasses designed by Osler. This example is very well executed, the technique involves dipping the molten green glass into a pot of opaque white glass before forming each part. Once the glass has been pieced together and cooled, a layer of the opaque white is cut back to reveal the underlaying hues.
