Technical Description 

An 18th-century Balustroid wine glass dating to 1740 with a bell bowl. Flattened Ball shoulder knop above inverted baluster and basal knops. Conical folded Foot. 

Date & Origin 

England, c1740. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration. 

Dimensions 

Height: 15.2cm Rim diameter: 5.8cm Foot diameter: 6.8cm.

Historical Relevance 

Hand-made around the time Grog was first issued to the Royal Navy in 1740.
