18th Century Facet Cut Jelly Glass c1790

Technical Description 

A very fine tall late 18th century Facet Cut Jelly glass dating to c1790.

 

It has a sallop cut rim above a diamond facet cut conical bowl. Short slice cut stems, the slice cutting continuing onto the foot. 

 

Quality example. Almost certainly one of the best Jelly glasses we have had in some time. Comes from a small, but high quality collection of Jelly and Syllabub glasses we will be presenting over the next few weeks.

Date & Origin 

England, c1790. Period of George III.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration. Very minor grazing to a few of the rim scallops.

Height: 11.5cm Rim diameter: 6.3cm Foot diameter: 5.5cm.
