Pink & Purple Zanfirico Cane Glass Earrings by Michael J. Hunter

Technical Description 

A pair of studio art glass earrings by Michael J. Hunter, part of the ‘faith’ jewellery range. The zanfirico cane is made from clear crystal glass and contains vibrant twisted ribbons of pink, purple and white. 925 Sterling silver findings.

These canes have been specially selected by the Exhibit team for their beautiful colour combinations. Get in touch if you have any special requests. 

Zanfirico is a type of polychrome cane, they are made by assembling a bundle of rods of different colours, and heating it until the material is soft and viscous. The molten bundle is then attached to two punti sticks and elongated up to 30ft, at the same time the bundle is twisted to produce a spiral pattern. Zanfirico takes its name from the Venetian dealer Antonio Sanquirico, who, in the 1830s, encouraged the revival on Murano of this and other traditional techniques.

Excellent, specially selected from the hot glass studio, as new.
