Technical Description 

An 18th-century Balustroid wine glass dating to 1740. It has a bell bowl above a teared inverted baluster stem with a basal knop above a conical folded foot.

Date & Origin 

England, c1740. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration. 

Dimensions 

Height: 15.5cm  Rim diameter: 7.5cm Foot diameter: 7.3cm.

Historical Relevance 

Hand-made around the time Grog was first issued to the Royal Navy in 1740.
