A rare early 18th-century baluster glass goblet dating to c1720.
The glass has a large waisted ogee bowl with two stacked rosettes of air beads encased within the solid section. An inverted baluster stem contains two further stacked air bead rosettes and sits between annular collars to the shoulder and basil. The domed foot also contains a rosette of air beads, this is an exceedingly rare feature.
A very unusual form with Germanic influences. The solid sections add significant weight to the glass.
