Technical Description
An 18th century balustroid wine glass. A bell bowl rests upon a knopped stem featuring shoulder and basal knops. The piece is supported by a folded conical foot with a rough pontil.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the Gin Act 1743 which attempted to increase taxation on gin provoked riots in London.
