Technical Description 

An engraved Newcastle light baluster wine glass. The round funnel bowl is engraved Justitia above a fine depiction of the blindfolded Lady Justice herself, carrying her sword and scales. This image is comprised of wheel engraving with fine polished and diamond point detailing. The knopped stem incorporates two annular knops above a beaded inverted baluster and basal knop.

Historical Relevance 

Lady justice was Iustitia in Roman Mythology, she is depicted wearing a blindfold, this is a symbol of the impartiality of justice. The sword in one hand represents the swiftness and finality of justice and finally the scales symbolise the weighing of evidence.
