Technical Description
A 19th century glass serving bottle in apple green, made by Richardson and Son in c1870.
It has its orgional cork stopper above a slice cut neck. The main body is engraved with fruting vine and the bottle has a polished pontil.
Apple green, was one of the rich Richardson colours and this is a stunning example.

Condition
Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration, clean and clear.

Historical Relevance
Around this time, Benjamin Henry perfects the Henry rifle which was manufactured by the New Haven Arms Company, and used in considerable numbers by certain Union army units in the American Civil War. Confederates called the Henry "that damned Yankee rifle that they load on Sunday and shoot all week!"
