Technical Description 

A rare pair of Ashford Black Marble candlesticks produced in the mid 19th century in Derbyshire. Each candlestick has a different set of four etched classical figures.

You can find some excellent inlaid and engraved examples at Derby Museum, Buxton Museum, and Chatsworth House. Online there are a few fine inlaid examples, however, the neo-classical etched examples are extremely rare, a pair even more so.

Condition 

Excellent, normal wear for their age, no chips cracks or restoration...minor grazes to a few of the corners on the feet.
