Technical Description
A 19th-century pickle jar with its original ground hollow slice cut lid. The jar has a band of large oval cuts around the middle on a star cut base. A fantastic item that is just as practical today as it was in the 19th century. Please note that the lid does not come off (may come off if heated in warm water for a period of time) but sold as a decorative piece only.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time John Alexander Reina Newlands produced the first periodic table of elements in 1864.
