Technical Description
An 18th century air twist gin glass with a drawn trumpet bowl above a multi spiral air twist stem. Conical foot with a rough pontil.
We have described this as a gin glass. Our reasons are, it's too small to be a wine glass, too tall to be a dram glass, it couldn't be described as a cordial and it's not a short wine as the bowl is too small.
So a gin glass fits very well, remembering that it was drunk "neat", as we say in Scotland.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the first recorded women's cricket match took place in Surrey, England.
