Technical Description
An excellent 19th century pillar moulded bell decanter with flanges to the main body. The flanges wer e designed to keep the wine cooler. An applied annulated neck ring and a polished pontil. The stopper is original and is moulded to match the body. One of the best examples of this form we have ever had.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the USS Monitor, the US Navy's first ironclad warship was launched.
