Technical Description
A large Victorian duplex oil lamp. The piece rests upon three legs moulded in the form of dragons and rococo scrolls. A satin glass reservoir by Stevens and Williams sits beneath a brass collar with a two knob system to control both wicks individually. A clear glass chimney in a beautiful brass seat is surrounded by a straw vaseline shade decorated with flowers and a crimped rim. The burner is fully operational.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the Boys' Brigade was founded in Glasgow. It was the first uniformed youth organisation in existence.
