Technical Description
A pair of cut port wine glasses. A double ogee bowl decorated with a band of fine diamond cutting rests upon a knopped stem with a conical foot. The base is finished with a rough pontil.

Maine Becomes the 23rd state of the USA. Maine was an enclave of Massachusetts until 1820, when as a result of the growing population and a political agreement regarding slavery, it became the 23rd state on March 15 under the Missouri Compromise
