Technical Description
A superb 19th-century Victorian silver and tigers eye brooch in the form of a horseshoe. The silver is ornately engraved and set with nine tigers eye stones, eight of which are flat and one of which is triangularly domed. The brooch is unmarked which is quite normal for Scottish jewellery of this period. Mounted with a handmade scrolling c-clasp, a slightly extended pin and a tube hinge, there is also an intact hanging loop. The tigers eye stones have been expertly set and are exceedingly rare amongst Victorian brooches, you may not find another.
