Technical Description
A superb 19th century Bristol green Mell decanter which very unusually has its original hollow stopper.
Mell decanters normally come with cork stoppers (or none) and can make great wine carafes. Quite rare to find one with its original glass stopper.
Date & Origin
England, c1830. Period of William IV.
Condition
Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration, minor residue to base. A few light scratches.

Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time McVitie's was founded as McVitie & Price's biscuit bakery in Edinburgh.
