Technical Description
A rare Georgian ale glass which has an elongated ogee bowl engraved with hop and barley. The stem has an annulated shoulder knop above an angular knop. Conical folded foot with snapped pontil.
A very interesting glass. The elongated ogee bowl is rarely seen on Dwarf Ale Glasses (Dwarf meaning they have short stems) and the join at the base of the stem, in conjunction with the type of folded foot (which has a wide fold), is a rare combination...the foot being more typical of a mid-18th century glass and the join being prevalent on English drinking glasses in the very early 19th century and not really seen before this date.
Overall, a very interesting glass indeed.
