An incised twist, 18th Century wine glass dating to c1755.


It has a conical bowl with dimple moulding to the lower section. Sits on a fine incised twist stem above a conical foot.

England, c1755. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration

Historical Relevance 

Hand-blown around the time Lord Harwicke's Marriage Act 1753 "for the Better Preventing of Clandestine Marriage" came into force in England and Wales on the 25th March 1754.
