Technical Description

An 18th century Baluster wine glass dating to c1725-30.


It has a bell bowl with a solid section at the base above an excellent stem consisting of a true knop above an inverted baluster knop and a basla knop both containing a long air tear. Conical foot.

England, c1725-30. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, no chips, cracks, or restoration.

Height: 16.9cm Rim diameter: 6.6cm Foot diameter: 6.9cm.

Historical Context

Hand-blown around the time George, Prince of Wales, became King George II of Great Britain in 1727.
