Technical Description 

An elegant Georgian Regency champagne flute dating to c1830.

It has a conical bowl with slice cuts to the lower half which continue down the stem which has a central knop. Conical foot with polished pontil.

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration

Historical Context

In 1830, the suspension bridge at Montrose, Scotland, collapsed due to weight and movement of a crowd of boat race followers. The twin-hulled iron paddle steamer "Lord Dundas" was launched...built for service on the Forth and Clyde Canal which is still used by narrow boats almost 200 years later.
