Technical Description
A rare Art Nouveau style Cranberry Cut Vase dating to between c1910 and c1935.
Cut to clear, with a notch cut rim above an Art Nouveau, cut Iris, design. Sits on a star cut base.
Superb exquisite workmanship, the swirling shape and cutting of the leaves, being seen in the Stevens and Williams Joshua Hodgetts amber vase example shown. The Iris pattern can also be seen on a number of other Stevens & Williams pieces from the same period. This particular vase is unmarked and therefore could either be by Stevens and Williams or by Royal Brierley who took them over in the 1930's.
Either way, it’s an extremely rare piece which you will have difficultly finding elsewhere.
Part of a large exclusive private collection of 19th and 20th century glass, brought together over many years, that Exhibit will be presenting over the coming months.
