A ribbed round funnel bowl above a multi spiral air twist stem with a central swelling knop. Conical foot.

Identification of Antique Drinking Glasses | The English Air Twist

Date & Origin 

England, c1750. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. Two slag seeds in stem as shown which is from manufacture and not damage.

Dimensions 

Height: 19.1cm Rim diameter: 7.2cm Foot diameter: 8.2cm.

Historical Relevance 

Hand-blown around the time France declared war on Britain during The War of the Austrian Succession in 1744.
