Technical Description
A superb 18th-century wrythen-gadrooned ale glass dating to c1730. This wrythen-gadrooned technique differs from typical wrythen moulding as an extra layer of glass is used, giving a deeper texture and more definition. An annulated knop sits above a conical, folded foot.

Historical Interest
In 1725 Peter the Great died at age 52 after plunging into icy waters to try and save his drowning soldiers and in 1727 in Brazil, Europeans begin planting coffee for the first time
