Technical Description
A superb mid 18th Century air twist wine glass. An Ogee bowl with rare nut moulding to the lower section. Sits on a single series air twist stem consisting of a spiral air cable. Conical foot with snapped pontil.
A very elegant glass, we only recall having a few examples of this form in the last 20 years.
An interesting feature is that two names have been engraved in period diamond point (by different engravers) on the underside of the foot around the pontil. Difficult to make out. A wedding present perhaps. Nice personal feature.
