Technical Description
A fine example of a William IV decanter with its original hollow mushroom stopper.
The stopper has been flute cut on top and notch cut around the rim.
Three applied and facet cut neck rings above slice cut shoulders with a band of flute cutting to the base. Large polished pontil.
Overall a fine example, which can hold approx 1.5 bottles of wine...or a bottle of Whisky...whichever is your tipple.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the Earl Grey succeeded the Duke of Wellington as Prime Minister in 1830.
