Height: 16,5cm, Bowl: 6cm Foot diameter: 7.2cm.

Technical Description 

An 18th-century Jacobite wine glass. It has a round funnel bowl engraved with the Jacobite Rose and single open bug. It also has the Scottish Thistle and the kissing star engraved on the bowl.

Sits on a multi spiral air twist stem with a central swelling knop above a conical foot.

According to Seddon the glass was engraved by Engraver E.

The glass has excellent provenance selling at Christie's on the 20th Nov 1985 lot 140 as part of the Mr & Mrs Thomas D Lumpkin collection. It was subsequently purchased by its current owner when it again sold at Bonhams on lot 93 at the Fine British and European Glass sale at New Bond Street on 15.22.2010.
