18th Century Double Knop Air Twist Wine Glass c1750

£375.00 $469.20 Product Code: 2022031611

Technical Description

A very fine mid-18th century air twist wine glass. A drawn trumpet bowl above a double knop multispiral air twist stem. Conical foot with a snapped pontil.

A fine glass.

We often see this form described as a composite stem because of the 'little' plain stem section at the base of the bowl but it's really just part of the drawn trumpet bowl and certainly not a composite. We also often see this air twist stem described as a 'multi series' stem...there is no such thing as a multi series stem, it's a multi spiral.
