Technical Description 

A superbly engraved amber rummer with detailed forest scenes around the upper bowl. Slice and printie cuts below surround the lower body. Sits on a thick circular foot with a polished base. Excellent workmanship and a fine example.

Historical Relevance 

The Crimean War (1854-56) was fought by an alliance of Britain, France, Turkey and Sardinia against Russia. For the British, the campaign was symbolised by the military and logistical incompetence alongside the bravery and endurance of its soldiers.
