18th-century opaque twist wine glass. An ogee bowl above a double series opaque twist stem consisting of a pair of spiral gauzes outside a pair of spiral tapes. A conical foot with a rough pontil supports the piece.
On July 27th 1760, The Scottish School of Design was founded in Edinburgh. It later became the Royal Institution and finally the Royal Scottish Academy.
