Technical Description
18th century short plain stem wine glass. A drawn ogee bowl transitions into an elegant plain stem. The piece stands upon a folded conical foot, finished with a rough pontil. A short wine will have a bowl the same size as a standard wine but upon a much smaller stem.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time grog was first issued in the Royal Navy in 1740.
