Technical Description
A gilded 19th century glass claret jug. The neck has a pulled and fluted pouring section and an applied claw handle. This leads to a slice cut shoulder and a bulbous body. The body is decorated with gilded rococo scrolls. The piece is complete with a polished base, and the original faceted and gilded stopper.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time construction of the Cologne Cathedral was finally completed after over 600 years on the 14th of August 1880.
