Technical Description 

An early 18th century baluster toastmaster glass. A heavily deceptive trumpet bowl rests upon a baluster stem featuring a teared ball knop. The piece is supported by a folded conical foot with a rough pontil. The same form can be seen in Eighteenth Century Drinking Glasses by LM Bickerton Page 67 Plate 63.

Historical Relevance 

Hand-blown around the time the Black Watch was raised as a military company to aid the pacification of the Scottish Highlands following the Jacobite rebellion of 1715.
