Technical Description 

An unusual 19th century port wine glass. A waisted bell bowl with slice cutting rests upon an angular knopped stem. A conical foot with a polished pontil supports the piece. 

Historical Relevance 

Hand-blown around the time Royal Navy captain Edward Bransfield became the first person positively to identify Antarctica as a land mass.
