Technical Description

A late 18th early 19th century glass salt. The cup bowl is decorated with diamond moulding and an applied orange glass rim. This is supported by a stem featuring an annulated knop. A conical foot with a rough pontil completes the piece.

Historical Relevance

Hand-blown around the time Robert Burns' song 'Scots Wha Hae' was published in the Morning Chronicle on the 8th of May 1794.
