Technical Description
Two amber flashed and etched wine glasses. The taller example features a flashed amber cartouche containing an engraved portrait of Napoleon III. A knopped stem and conical foot support the round funnel bowl. The bowl and foot both feature amber flashed rims. The smaller example is similar in style with a rudimentary stem and a lipped round funnel bowl. This glass features an engraving of a lady riding a horse.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time of The Second Opium War from 1856 to 1860.
