Technical Description
An early 18th century Baluster stem wine glass. A bell bowl rests upon a baluster stem featuring a shoulder knop above a teared inverted baluster knop and a basal knop. A rare addition to the stem is the applied annular collar. The piece is supported by a folded conical foot.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the Black Watch was raised as a military company to aid the pacification of the Scottish Highlands following the Jacobite rebellion of 1715.
