Technical Description 

Engraved 18th century opaque twist ale glass. An elongated round funnel bowl rests upon a double series opaque twist stem. Engraved hops and barley in saltire decorate the bowl. The stem is comprised of a multi-ply spiral band outside corkscrew. A conical foot with a rough pontil supports the piece. 

Historical Relevance 

Hand-blown around the time Edinburgh City Chambers was opened as the Royal Exchange, to the design of the Scottish Architect John Adam.
