Technical Descriptions
A large Govancroft rope stoneware water jug. The jug has a pronounced pouring section and a barrel shaped body. The entire piece, including the B-shaped handle is moulded in the form of rope. The base is marked Govancroft.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the first section of the 132kV AC National Grid was switched on in Edinburgh.
