Technical Description 

Engraved 18th century plain stem wine glass. A plain stem transitions into a drawn ogee bowl engraved with a floral band, this all rests upon a folded conical foot with a rough pontil. 

Historical Relevance 

Hand-blown around the time of The Battle of Dettingen, which took place on the 27th of June 1743 during the war of the Austrian Succession. King George II of Britain personally led troops into battle. The last time a British monarch commanded troops in the field.
