Technical Description
19th-century opaque twist wine glass. A bell bowl with a solid section at the base containing air tears. The bowl has been engraved with Lilly Of The Valley, a butterfly and a rose. A single series stem consisting of a spiral tape rests upon a conical foot with a rough pontil.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time Charles Goodyear received a patent for vulcanization, a process to strengthen rubber on the 15th of June 1844.
