Technical Description
A conical bowl with well defined wrythen moulding.The moulding continues from the bowl over the shoulder and basal knops. This rests upon a conical foot with a rough pontil.
Historical Relevance
The heavy lead glass and deep hue are indicative of its origin and period. Hand-blown around the time South Carolina became the first state to ratify the Articles of Confederation, and around the death of Captain James Cook on the 14th of February 1779.
