Technical Description
19th century cranberry glass carafe. The neck has an applied neck ring. The shaft and globe form has pulled internal trailing. All rests upon a clear glass base with a rough pontil.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time Charles Goodyear received a patent for vulcanization, a process to strengthen rubber on the 15th of June 1844.
