Technical Description
A Georgian Irish cut and moulded glass decanter. The body features three milled applied neck rings with lens cutting between. The shoulder is decorated with strawberry diamond and fan cutting. Flute moulding is present on the base above which I Harrison is engraved. A star cut mushroom stopper and rough pontil complete the piece. The Newry Glass Manufactory is attributed as the origin of this piece.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time The Sick and Indigent Roomkeepers' Society was established in Dublin on the 15th of March 1790; this will be the city's oldest surviving charity by the 21st century.
