Technical Description
A pair of 19th century cut glass standing bowls. The bowl has a scallop cut rim above a band of flute cuts bordered with prism cuts. A thick knopped stem supports the wide bowl. The foot is thick and flat with a radial cut base.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time Big Ben, the Great Bell for the Palace of Westminster's clock tower in London, was recast at Whitechapel Bell Foundry on the 10th of April 1858.
