Technical Description
Engraved 19th century Masonic glass beaker. The cylindrical body is engraved with the pillars of Boaz and Jachin, within which are two cherubs and a candelabra. The opposite side is engraved with Hebrew type lettering above a crown, the star of David and the tablets of the law. A pair of lions flank this last. This is all surmounting a band of diamond cutting with lens cuts. A polished and star cut pontil completes the piece.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the Scottish explorer David Livingstone became the first European to see the Victoria Falls, in what is now Zambia.
