Technical Description
An outstanding mid 19th century Latticino glass tumbler or beaker. A one piece glass with a red applied rim. It weighs in at only 78 grams and is in original condition. It could be from one of the many Italian Murano based manufacturers from this period, the workmanship being of the highest standard.

Historical Context
The 2nd half of the 19th century was very much a revival period for glass artists of Murano. They retrieved the secrets behind the making of certain types of glass which had fallen into disuse because of the very complexity of the procedures involved. Filigree production was also rediscovered by the Domenico Bussolin, followed by Lorenzo Graziati and Pietro Bigaglia.
