Technical Description
An excellent example of a wrythen moulded 18th century ale glass.
Sometimes referred to a Somerset Ale glass, the wrythen is almost horizontal towards the top of the bowl which then curves down and becomes vertical towards the base of the bowl. Two shoulder knops and a small plain stem section at the base. Large conical foot with snapped pontil.

Excellent, age-related wear as shown.

Historical Context
Hand-blown around the time Britain entered the Seven Years' War against Spain and Naples on the 4th of January 1762.
